He received his Degree (with Honours) in Architecture from University Technology of Malaysia in 1983. He has won the best student award and received Gold Medal Award from the university and Malaysian Institute of Architects for his final year thesis for being original and innovative.

He started his career as a lecturer in the same university for 2 years before joining a private developer as a project manager in 1985. In the following year, Ar. Hj. Mior Zawari obtained his corporate membership from the Malaysian Institute of Architects, thus started his own practice in 1988 until today. His architectural firm has won Top Ten Architect Award from Building and Construction Interchange Asia (BCI Asia) in 2006 and 2007 respectively. He has been travelling to many countries and has undertaken projects in Beijing, Moscow, Australia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Morocco, India and Pakistan.

Apart from architecture, he also has a deep interest in safety and health. Every time after he visited construction sites, he notices contractors and workers seem to be ignorance about safety and health at their workplaces. Owing to lack of training organisations at that time, he established Construction and Industrial Safety Training Centre (CONSIST) in 1996. This effort was made due to his intention to assist the Government of Malaysia to reduce accidents at workplaces. Within 5 years, he has established CONSIST to be one of the most well equipped safety training centres in Asia Pacific. In 2004, Ar. Hj. Mior Zawari was the man who has made CONSIST received the Malaysia-Canada Business Council Best Service Award. In the same year, he has also established CONSIST Aviation Sdn. Bhd. in order to focus on survival and safety training for the aviation industry. Subsequently, CONSIST College was founded in 2005 and the foundation of CONSIST College was made to create safety as a career pathway for school leavers. With over 30 years of work experience, he is now offering ideas in promoting training of manpower for the present and future workplace.
