Datuk Ar. IDr. Hj. Mior Zawari graduated with a Degree (Hons) in Architecture from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 1983. During his academic years, he was awarded Best Student and received the prestigious Gold Medal Award from both the university and the Malaysian Institute of Architects for his final year thesis, recognised for its originality and innovation.

He began his professional career as a lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia for two years before joining a private development company as a Project Manager in 1985. In 1986, he attained corporate membership with the Malaysian Institute of Architects, and subsequently established his own architectural practice in 1988, which he continues to lead today.

Under his leadership, the firm has received the Top Ten Architect Award from BCI Asia in both 2006 and 2007. His professional portfolio spans internationally, with projects undertaken in Beijing, Moscow, Australia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Morocco, India, and Pakistan.

Beyond architecture, Datuk Ar. IDr. Hj. Mior Zawari has a strong passion for occupational safety and health. Recognising the lack of awareness and training among construction workers, he founded Construction and Industrial Safety Training Centre (CONSIST) in 1996 to support Malaysia’s efforts in reducing workplace accidents. Within five years, CONSIST became one of the most well-equipped safety training centres in the Asia Pacific region.

In 2004, CONSIST was awarded the Malaysia-Canada Business Council Best Service Award, further affirming its impact and excellence. In the same year, he established CONSIST Aviation Sdn. Bhd., focusing on survival and safety training for the aviation industry. This was followed by the establishment of CONSIST College in 2005, aimed at developing safety training as a viable career pathway for school leavers.

With over 40 years of professional experience, Datuk Ar. IDr. Hj. Mior Zawari continues to contribute actively to both the architectural field and workforce development, particularly in advancing safety training for current and future industries.
