The MZH2 is a 9 storey building designed with two functions. It is a college of Safety Health and Environment during the day and a community function centre at night. This 13,935 sq. meter (150,000 sq. ft.) building comprises of 3 levels of car park, 14 classrooms, student centre, hostel for 156 students, auditorium for 200 people, examination hall for 100 students, surau for 100 people, grand hall for 1500 people and other support facilities. In a normal planning concept, it can take up to 10 acres of land to accommodate all the requirement but The MZH2 can manage to fit in just one acre of land.

Owing to site constraints, Industrialized Building System (IBS) has been chosen to go in line with Innovative Building Solution (IBS) in order to produce interesting and better design outcome. Almost 80% of the building components using IBS materials such as pre-cast concrete, hollow blocks, re wall, UAC boards and grass pavers. This building is designed to maximize energy efficiency by introducing cross ventilation and natural lighting whereby vertical lattices are widely used, blank walls on west elevation, light sensor at selected areas and all water taps are self-closing type. Rainwater harvesting is used for all WCs and watering plants. Some of the steel roof structures are salvage from old factory.

The interior spaces emphasize on natural finishes whereby ceilings , walls and columns are bare concrete and hollow blocks are left unpainted. Besides cost saving, it has created a contemporary outlook within a natural environment.
